Welcome to the home page of one of NUI, Maynooth's oldest and most active Societies. The Literary and Debating Society is a society that offers a forum for people to debate and express their opinions, on both national and University matters, in a formal setting. We strive to promote Public Speaking, Debating and Creative Writing on campus.
We hold a wide variety of events such as topical debates, writing workshops and debating competitions. We also regularly publish a creative writing journal and enter national debating competitions, like the Irish Times and run competitions for Secondary School Students..
